Last updated: 29 July 2026 / Applies to the BendBook Android application on Google Play
In short: BendBook does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data.
Everything you enter stays on your device. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising,
and the app does not connect to the internet.
Who we are
BendBook is developed and published by BlackBox Design Lab.
If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact us at
blackboxdlab@gmail.com.
Location: Kharkiv, Ukraine
What the app stores
BendBook keeps the following information on your device only:
Bend table entries: materials, thicknesses, tooling, angles, radii, and K-factors you measure or enter.
Tooling library: die and punch definitions you add.
Projects: parametric part descriptions, markup, and notes you save.
Preferences: units, drawing standard, decimal precision, theme, and export destination.
Profile details: your name, role, company name, and logo image, used for drawing title blocks.
An optional PIN to protect erase functions. We store a one-way hash, not the PIN itself.
An automatic backup in your device’s shared Documents/BendBook/ folder. Unlike the items above, this file is not private. It is visible to your file manager and to other apps with storage access. It is also not deleted when you uninstall BendBook. You can delete it manually at any time.
What the app does not do
No account required. We do not ask you to sign in.
No analytics, usage statistics, crash reports, or device identifiers.
No advertising, and no data shared with advertisers.
No access to location, camera, microphone, contacts, or calendar.
No network requests. All fonts and assets are built into the app, so it works offline.
Files you export
When you export a DXF, PNG, CSV, or JSON file, the app writes it to the location you choose on
your device, or hands it to another application through the system share sheet. What happens to
that file after export is up to you. BendBook does not upload anything automatically.
Purchases
BendBook offers a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks additional features. All payments are
processed by Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment details. The app checks your
purchase status with Google Play and stores the result locally, so unlocked features work without
an internet connection.
BendBook is a tool for sheet-metal fabrication. It is not directed at children, and we do not
collect data from any users, including children.
Your data and your control
Because nothing leaves your device, there is no server-side copy to request, correct, or delete.
You are in full control:
Export a JSON backup at any time.
Delete individual entries; they go to an in-app trash and can be restored.
Erase everything the app stores with Erase all app data in Settings.
Uninstalling the app removes its stored data from the device, except the Documents/BendBook backup file. That file stays in place so you can restore your data after reinstalling. Delete it manually if you do not want it kept.
Changes to this policy
If a future update changes what the app stores or introduces any network feature, we will update
this policy before publishing that version. The date at the top of this page will change accordingly.
